Horticulture

The goal of the Horticulture Committee, is to provide TCGC members with information on horticulture and increase participation in flower shows and in-house workshops. The Committee has conducted numerous workshops for members, the Young Gardeners affiliate, other garden clubs and non-profit organizations, some of which have won awards. Examples include how to create fairy gardens and rain gardens, propagation, and growing native plants. The committee also produces the newsletter “Can You Dig It” three times each year to share Horticulture information and member stories.  The newsletter has received several awards and recognition from both FGCMD and GCA.  Recent editions can be found on this site under “Resources.” Briefings on how to enter Horticulture in a Flower Show have also been conducted by Committee members to encourage more participation in flower shows.  Members have won numerous awards at many flower shows for their horticulture entries.
